Pro Tips for Comfort, Speed, and Safety
1. Apply several strips in succession before removing any. This keeps you in a rhythm, saves time, and means clients are on the table for less time overall.
2. Commit to each pull with a swift, relaxed motion. A confident pull removes more hair in one go and cuts down on discomfort.
3. Always create a “lip” on the wax strip so you have an easy grip. No more fumbling or awkward stops, just clean, professional pulls.
4. After every pull, press your hand firmly on the area you just waxed. This is the number one comfort trick. Pressure calms the nerve endings right away and helps your client feel cared for.
5. Never flick the strip upward. Always pull close and parallel to the skin. This minimizes pain and lowers the risk of bruising or breaking hairs.
6. Keep your wax at a honey-like consistency. If it is too hot, you risk burns and inflamed skin. If it is too cool, it will tug, cause pain, or start drying in the hair while you are still laying the strip.
7. This results in unnecessary discomfort for your client and makes clean removal nearly impossible. Consistent, honey-textured wax glides on gently, grabs every hair, and comes off smoothly every time.
8. Use creamy, fast-drying hard wax like Teal Dream for the most sensitive areas. Creaminess cushions the pull, making it less painful than gel wax, and the quick dry time lets you lay multiple strips at once.
9. Book clients within four weeks of their last wax. Consistent waxing removes hair in the early growth stage, weakens the follicle over time, and makes each session less painful.
